Do I need to make an appointment?

We also offer a home blood collection service. To use this service, please contact the administration office of one of our centers:

  • Lausanne: +41 21 620 60 40
  • Geneva: +41 22 706 20 10

For your convenience, choose the center and time that suit you best. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions when making your appointment — our administrative staff will pass them on to our nurses, who will contact you if needed.

What documents should I bring with me?

Please bring the following documents with you:

  • The doctor's prescription (or the prescription) specifying the tests to be performed
  • Your health insurance card

At labor team, we send the invoice directly to your health insurance provider. Upon your arrival at the center, the nurse will create a complete file with all the necessary information to ensure that your tests are carried out reliably and in accordance with the prescribing doctor’s expectations.

Do I need to fast?

This depends on the tests ordered. It is recommended that you clarify with your doctor or our laboratory whether fasting is necessary.

What does “fasting” mean?
It means that you have not eaten or drunk anything (except water) for at least 12 hours. It is also recommended that you do not drink alcohol in the 24 hours before the sample is taken.

Drinking water is allowed and even recommended, including shortly before the sample is taken.

Analyses that are usually affected by fasting :

  • Lipid balance
  • blood sugar level
  • iron
  • insulin
  • cortisol
  • Uric acid
  • Alkaline phosphate
  • dopamine
  • Potassium
  • Breath test
  • (non-exhaustive list)

Is it painful?

Blood sampling is generally not painful. You'll simply feel a slight prick when the needle is inserted, a sensation that quickly disappears.

For young children or very sensitive people, an anaesthetic patch can be applied about an hour before the sample is taken. Don't hesitate to ask us about this when you book your appointment.

Modern infrastructure. Friendly atmosphere.
